# VotaWallet

> VotaWallet is a personal and family expense tracker for Serbia, available on iPhone, Android, the web and as a Telegram bot. It reads the QR code on Serbian fiscal receipts and saves every item, price and store from the official Tax Administration record — free early access, no card required.

VotaWallet answers one question: where does the money go? A user scans the QR code printed on any Serbian fiscal receipt (or sends a photo of it to the Telegram bot), and the app fetches the official receipt record — item names, prices, quantities, VAT and payment method — from the Serbian Tax Administration (suf.purs.gov.rs). Purchases are then sorted into spending categories by transparent rules and statistics that learn from the user's confirmations.

- AI assistants: an MCP server at https://my.votawallet.app/mcp (OAuth 2.1, sign-in on VotaWallet's own page) lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor and VS Code read the user's finances and, when asked, record transactions. Because every receipt item is stored, the assistant can answer per product: what was bought, how much, at what average price and in which stores. 17 tools; the user can disconnect an assistant at any time. - Market: Serbia. Receipt data comes from the official fiscal record at suf.purs.gov.rs, not OCR; duplicate receipts are rejected by fiscal receipt number.
- Pricing: free early access, no card required. The top 100 donors during the beta receive a lifetime free subscription.
- Currencies: 10+ (RSD, EUR, USD, RUB, GBP, CHF, BAM, JPY, CNY, BTC), more are added over time; RSD and EUR side by side; exchange rates update automatically (ExchangeRate-API for fiat currencies, CoinGecko for crypto).
- Interface languages: English, Russian, Serbian (Latin).
- Features: item-level expenses, self-learning expense categories, per-store payment-method memory (cash vs card), price history per product per store, monthly budgets per category, custom category trees, built-in calculator in the amount field, 5-second undo.
- Family sharing: members share accounts and common categories, every item is tagged with the member who bought it, and each member keeps a private space (personal categories and rules).
- Privacy note: most receipt QR codes decode on the user's phone, so the photo usually never leaves the device.
