What is VotaWallet?
VotaWallet is a personal and family expense-tracking web app with a Telegram bot, built for Serbia. Scan the QR code on a fiscal receipt — every item, price and the store are saved automatically, so you can see exactly where the money goes.
How did VotaWallet start?
It started in 2026: Denis was tired of logging expenses by hand and untangling Serbian receipts, so he built VotaWallet to run his own finances. It turned out handy — and a personal tool grew into an app for everyone living in Serbia.
Is VotaWallet free?
Yes — early access is free and no card is required. Paid plans may appear after the beta; the top 100 donors during the beta get a lifetime free subscription.
How does receipt scanning work?
Every Serbian fiscal receipt carries a QR code. VotaWallet decodes it right on your phone and fetches the official record — items, prices, VAT and payment method — from the Tax Administration (suf.purs.gov.rs). No OCR guesswork, and duplicates are rejected by the fiscal receipt number.
Can I add receipts through Telegram?
Yes. Send a photo of a receipt to the VotaWallet Bot, pick the account, confirm — and it's already in the app. The bot and the app share one account and one database.
How are purchases sorted into categories?
By transparent rules and statistics that learn from you. Confirm a couple of receipts and categories start filling in on their own — every suggestion can be traced to a rule. It also remembers how you pay in each store: cash or card.
Can my family use it together?
Yes. Family members share accounts and common categories, and every item shows who bought it. Each member also keeps a private space — personal categories and rules stay theirs.
Which currencies and languages are supported?
Ten currencies, including crypto: Serbian Dinar (RSD), Euro (EUR), US Dollar (USD), Russian Ruble (RUB), British Pound (GBP), Swiss Franc (CHF), Bosnian Convertible Mark (BAM), Japanese Yen (JPY), Chinese Yuan (CNY) and Bitcoin (BTC). Rates update automatically from the NBS, CBR, ECB and CoinGecko. The app and the site are available in three languages: English, Russian and Serbian.
Do I need to install anything?
No. VotaWallet runs in the browser at my.votawallet.app on any phone or computer, and the bot works in your regular Telegram. There are no App Store or Google Play apps yet.
