VotaWallet has an MCP server: connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor and ask about your money in plain words. VotaWallet keeps every item from your Serbian fiscal receipts, so the assistant can answer by product: what you bought, how much, at what price and where.

Connect in the app

What you can ask

  • «How much did I spend on milk over the last three months, and where do I buy it most often?»
  • «What is the average price I pay for coffee, and what was the last price?»
  • «Which stores did I spend the most in this quarter?»
  • «How much is left in my food budget this month?»
  • «Add 800 RSD for coffee, paid in cash.»

How to connect

The server address is the same for every assistant:

Claude (web, desktop, phone)

  1. In VotaWallet open Settings → AI assistants and press Add to Claude, or add a custom connector in Claude with the address above.
  2. Sign in to VotaWallet and press Allow.
  3. After that the connector also works in the Claude phone app.

ChatGPT (website)

  1. Turn on Developer mode once: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode.
  2. On the apps page create an app: paste the address, name it VotaWallet, authentication OAuth.
  3. Sign in to VotaWallet and press Allow. ChatGPT adds custom apps on the website only, and writing transactions may not be available on every plan.

Gemini (in a browser)

  1. At gemini.google.com open Settings → Connected Apps → Custom apps → Add a custom app.
  2. Paste the address, sign in to VotaWallet and press Allow.
  3. You need a personal Google account, 18 or over, with Keep Activity turned on. Google is rolling this out gradually.

Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, n8n

  1. Settings → AI assistants in VotaWallet has a one-click install for Cursor and VS Code (from a computer) and a ready command for Claude Code.
  2. Automations such as n8n and Dify connect with a personal token created in the same place.

Reads

Wallet context, balances, spending by category and by store, budget status, product statistics, transaction search, receipt items without a category, and matching bank statement rows against your records.

Writes, only when you ask

Add an expense or income, transfer between accounts, edit or delete a transaction, sort receipt items into categories, create and edit categories, import the bank statement rows you approve.

Privacy and control

  • You sign in on VotaWallet's own page and press Allow. The assistant never sees your password.
  • Nothing is shared until you press Allow. You can disconnect any assistant in Settings → AI assistants, and access ends right away.
  • Records an assistant adds are marked AI in the app. The assistant is told to take money figures from VotaWallet instead of calculating them itself.
  • Your questions and the answers are processed by the assistant's provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) under its own policy. VotaWallet does not send your data to AI services on its own.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use the tools of other apps. VotaWallet runs an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini can read your finances and, if you ask, record transactions.

Is it free?

Connecting is free during VotaWallet's early access. You need an assistant plan that allows custom connectors; Claude, OpenAI and Google set those conditions and they differ by plan.

Which assistants work?

Claude on the web, desktop and phone, ChatGPT on the website, Gemini in a browser, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code. Automations such as n8n and Dify connect with a personal token.

Can I ask in Russian or Serbian?

Yes. The assistant gets the tool descriptions in your VotaWallet language (English, Russian or Serbian), and you can ask in any of them.

How do I disconnect an assistant?

Open Settings → AI assistants in the VotaWallet app or at my.votawallet.app and press Disconnect. Records the assistant has already added stay.
